When hospitals in Illinois want to expand services or build new facilities, they must apply for state approval and be granted a Certificate of Need (CON). Many consider KSA to be the leading PR firm in Chicago specializing in communications strategies for the often-contentious CON process in Illinois. Over the past several years, Vista Health System in Lake County has engaged KSA four times to coordinate communications services to promote Vista’s CON applications.

KSA has managed media relations and community outreach to build and showcase widespread support for Vista Health System’s successful CON applications to offer open heart surgery in Waukegan and to build a Freestanding Emergency Center in Lindenhurst. Twice, we’ve coordinated communications for Vista’s applications to build a new hospital in Lindenhurst. Each time, we crafted key messages, engaged community leaders, coordinated public hearing testimony and generated positive publicity.
