Chicago Transit Authority

Public involvement and public participation are critically important to large-scale public construction and infrastructure projects. Global engineering and construction firm Camp, Dresser & McKee Inc. (CDM) needed a Chicago-based communications firm partner to coordinate logistics and communications for, and increase public participation in several CTA projects.

KSA, a certified women business enterprise (WBE), has played an integral role in the coordination, planning and messaging of public meetings for the CTA’s plans to extend the Red, Orange and Yellow lines, as well as plans to modernize the Red and Purple lines.

KSA’s knowledge of the Chicago area ensured CTA and CDM secured the best locations for meetings and that the most important community groups participated. KSA also wrote media materials. More people than ever before attended these meetings, allowing the CTA to improve communication with their key audiences, educate residents about upcoming transit improvements and correct misperceptions in the community.
